A Boundary Crossed

Definition: Fascism - A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
I find I get a little frustrated at broad terms that get thrown about lately. Just what the hell is a “neo-conservative”, what is a “democrat” or a “liberal”. So, before I throw around a specific term, I want to make sure I am clear as to the meaning I attribute to the word.
I want to talk about IslamoFascists. The definition of Fascism is clearly defined and has been experienced in a wide variety of ways over recent history. However, in virtually all previous permutations of Fascism, it was secular in nature and was purely aimed at gaining preeminent control over a people.
Now, introduce IslamoFascists. This is a movement with the same goals: the total domination of a region and its people. However, this mission has been sanctioned by Allah. And, the primary tool to achieve this is jihad. This process has created a movement totally dedicated to the occupation and subordination of people based on an interpretation of the Koran the implicitly tells the IslamoFascists that their movement is right, just, their duty and blessed by Allah. This has lead to the creation of a very dedicated global movement that the civilized world is in the process of being forced to address.
I view the birth of this movement the 1972 Munich Olympics. The PLO kidnapped a number of Israeli athletes and killed them during the games. It has continued to grow and expand with the fall of the Shaw of Iran, the bombing of the Marine Barracks in Lebanon, the hijacking of the Achille Lauro, through the events of Somalia, the current Palestinian Interfada, 9/11 and continuing in its current face with the attack on the Russian children and adults in the school in Beslan.
With each passing year the IslamoFascist movement has become more focused, more violent and more vicious. This week, in Beslan, Russia it has crossed a very specific line within the civilized world, the deliberate targeting, kidnapping and killing of children.
Obviously, many children have died as “collateral damage”, the child on the Israeli bus, the child on the bombed airplane, the child in the bombed dinner, the child at the dance. But never have children been specifically chosen and targeted as they were in Beslan.
This has a number of implications. First, traditional limits of civilization, while stretched to the breaking point a number of times, including 9/11 – however here the target was a symbol of economic power. Even there, while children obviously died, they were not the specific target. As of the world today, children are now valid targets of these animals.
It does a great deal to suspend the illusion that these people can be negotiated or reasoned with. With this one step they announced to the world that the gloves were off. And, it should make it painfully clear that should these IslamoFascists acquire WMDs, they would be used without hesitation.
As to why I have turned to the description of IslamoFascist, I firmly believe that this movement is changing from the defense of Mecca and the establishment of a Palestinian state to the direct confrontation and defeat of what we would call “the West”. This is clearly a fascist movement wrapped in the garb of an Islamic movement. No longer is this about a regional conflict but the beginning of a global conflict that will pit IslamoFascists against the civilized world. This will be a generational war. And, it is a choice between subservience to a warped and twisted sect of Islam and liberty. It is a challenge we must rise to and ruthlessly defeat
